The Georgia Institute of Technology has an institutional focus on advancing pediatric healthcare through interdisciplinary research and innovation. Partnering with pediatric institutions and and other organizations worldwide, it focuses on developing and accelerating new medical technologies for children by connecting researchers, clinicians, industry, and regulators to address unmet pediatric clinical needs.
ISPI offers a community for members to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and engage in collaborative projects. Its initiatives include educational spotlight events, specialized workgroups focusing on areas like artificial intelligence, extended reality technologies, and wearable biosensors, as well as its flagship conference, PEDS 2040, which showcases emerging trends and technologies in pediatric healthcare.
The FDA’s Pediatric Device Consortia (PDC) Grants Program supports nonprofit groups that help advance medical devices for children. These consortia offer expertise in areas such as regulatory guidance, business planning, intellectual property, engineering, and clinical trial design, facilitating the progression of pediatric medical devices from concept to commercialization.
