Francesca Joseph


Francesca Joseph, MD, is a pediatrician at Children’s National and Co-investigator in the FDA-funded National Capital Consortium for Pediatric Device Innovation, where she primarily provides regulatory guidance and clinical support to pediatric device innovators, and is involved in various device development projects at Children’s National. She began her career in pediatric medical devices as a Commissioner’s Fellow in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) at the FDA, where she participated in several initiatives to advance the development of pediatric cardiovascular devices. She has also served as a Medical Officer in the Office of Orphan Products Development (OOPD) at the FDA, where she was heavily involved in the Humanitarian Use Device (HUD) program, while providing general clinical expertise to various other aspects of the OOPD mission.
