Rachel Ford Hutman


Rachel Ford Hutman is a global healthcare industry connector and accomplished communications advisor for life science companies. With more than 15 years of experience in the life science industry, she has developed robust experience at helping companies tell their stories, identify their value proposition and grow unique business models. Rachel has counseled some of the most well-known healthtech organizations and led communications strategies for the world’s biggest brands (Verily, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Pfizer, IBM, Best Buy, Takeda, Sanofi, Shire, Brigham & Women’s, NHS and many more). Since 2019, Rachel has served as Chief Executive Officer/ Founder of Ford Hutman Media (FHM). Her primary responsibilities include leading the day-to-day business, enhancing business growth, managing P&L, marketing and PR efforts, and providing strategic guidance to the company’s life science client roster including Medtronic, Cure Ventures, Takeda and HLM Venture Partners. Notably, in this role she oversaw the communications plan for Komodo Health’s $220M Series E Round, and the acquisition of Intelligent Medical Objects by PE firm, Thomas H. Lee Partners. Rachel also has substantial experience in crisis communications from her time leading communications at IBM Watson Health. She has presentation coached executives from IBM and Verily and enjoys helping executives tell their unique company story. Rachel also serves as Chairman of FHM’s Strategic Advisory Board and she works closely with the board to discuss FHM’s business growth and strategic direction. She created a diverse advisory board of investors, physicians, and entrepreneurs. Rachel is also a member of the Advisory Board for dbaPlatform where she helps the company with strategic business decisions. Rachel has also mentored countless colleagues over the years and enjoys making introductions from her diverse network of investors and industry thought leaders. For example, she connected client Pleno with HLM Venture Partners. Rachel also has international experience and has helped companies like IBM tell their story to European markets. At WebIT in Switzerland, she helped IBM position its new AI in genomics product to a conference focused on technology in healthcare. She secured incredibly positive media for the news which led to business growth.
